Where Zanda and Xero get out of step
The integration does a lot of the work, but it still needs checking to keep your numbers right.
Manual exports
The Xero export isn't automatic, so if nobody runs it, Xero falls behind your practice.
GST-free and taxable mixed
Invoices from the same calendar post to the same sales account, which can blur GST-free and taxable income.
NDIS details don't transfer
NDIS participant numbers and support item codes don't carry across to Xero unless set up another way.
Batch settlements
Card and health fund deposits need matching to many individual payments.

Zanda sends your invoices and payments to Xero and we reconcile them every week. This works well when your team rarely changes invoices or payments after the fact.
Integration off
We code income from your bank deposits each week, then post month-end journals from your Zanda reports for receivables, GST and income by practitioner or service. Changes your team makes in Zanda can't disturb Xero or a lodged BAS.

How does Zanda connect to Xero?
Zanda exports invoices and payments to Xero when you run a Xero export. We can run those exports for you on a regular schedule and reconcile them to your bank.
Is Zanda the same as Power Diary?
Yes. Power Diary was renamed Zanda, and its Xero integration works the same way.
Should the Zanda integration be on or off?
It depends on how your team uses Zanda. If invoices and payments are rarely changed after the fact, the integration can work well and we reconcile it weekly. If they are, we turn it off, code income from your bank deposits and post month-end journals instead. We recommend the right approach after looking at your setup.

Do I need to change practice software?
No. We work with Zanda as it is and focus on keeping it and Xero in line.
Are my services GST-free?
Many allied health services are GST-free, but not all. Products, classes and some professions are taxable. We check the treatment of each income line so your BAS is right.

I'm Nathan, a Newcastle local with a finance degree from the University of Newcastle. I spent four years at a Newcastle chartered accounting firm, and it gave me a strong grounding in tax, compliance and how small businesses really run. Along the way I noticed many owners wanted more regular support with their numbers during the year, not just at tax time. So in 2015 I became a Registered BAS Agent and started Stream, to give small business owners the kind of accounts team usually reserved for big business.
Today your books are handled by our bookkeeping team, who follow the same documented process for every client, and I oversee the quality of the work. Matching Medicare, NDIS and health fund payments was taking our team 40+ hours a month, so I co-founded Remittance Go to automate it. Our clients get the benefit.
